Arleston Community Centre is looking for passionate, forward-thinking volunteers to join our Board of Trustees – and we would love for you to bring your skills, energy, and ideas to the table!

Arleston Community Centre is a registered charity and a volunteer managed community centre in the heart of Arleston, Wellington. We are committed to providing a warm, welcoming, safe, and friendly community facility to serve the needs of our friendly and diverse community.

As a Trustee, you will meet with the board monthly to:

Help shape the future of our much-loved community hub.

Support projects that bring people together, from toddlers to older generations

Be a voice for residents and ensure their needs are met.

Gain valuable experience in leadership, governance, and community development.

We are especially keen to hear from people with skills in finance, fundraising, HR, marketing, or community engagement – but if you simply care about your community, you already have something to offer.

The Youth Offending Service are calling on volunteers to join a community panel, supporting young offenders on a court order to help prevent further offending.

Community Panel Members come from all sections of the local community and no specific educational qualifications are required. It is an important part of the Youth Justice system, and features highly on the Government's agenda.

Responsibilities:
• To meet with a young person on a court order, as part of a Community Panel, negotiate and oversee a contract that will reduce their offending and oversee that contract till its completion, amending, adjusting and if necessary returning the young person to court.
• To attend and participate fully in supervision sessions as required.
• To follow relevant policies and procedures as laid down by the Youth Offending Service in the delivery of the role.
• Panel Members will be expected to commit to panels for a minimum of 12 months by negotiation.
• Panel Meetings will take place at different times during the day and evening at various venues around Hereford Worcestershire and Shropshire.

Training will be provided in conjunction with our mentoring scheme.

Expenses will be reimbursed.

Our tea party group coordinators are a vital part of the Re-engage team.

Tea parties provide a lifeline of friendship for our older people, and the regular, warm, friendly chats and companionship provide a vital link with the outside world from which they have become isolated.

As a tea party group coordinator, you will ensure older guests know when and where the next tea party will be held and who will be collecting them each month.

Read Easy Telford and Shropshire East is affiliated to Read Easy UK, a national charity that helps adults learn to read and which has nearly 60 groups across England.

Read Easy Telford & Wrekin was established in 2019 and continues to grow to be a highly impactful local group with an increasing number of Reading Pairs (Reading Coach and Reader).

It is run by a hard-working, dedicated group of team members, all of whom are also volunteers.
The group is now seeking a new Literacy Specialist.

Our Literacy Specialists provide support with literacy issues to the Coordinator and Reading Coaches and assist in running the Reading Coach meetings.

Our volunteer Literacy Specialists feel a real sense of pride in giving practical solutions to their Coordinators and Reading Coaches.
