Opportunity Description
We are looking for a volunteer support worker to work alongside our independence and skills projects at our Day Service
This project supports vulnerable adults to learn independent living skills in areas such as domestic living tasks, cooking, furniture restoration, crafts, textiles, community gardening service, allotment, community safety and participation, leisure activities, travel training, being healthy, work skills and looking after our wellbeing.
You will receive the same training and support as the rest of our team.
The Skills and Enterprise Hub, run daily Monday-Friday 9.00am-4.00pm.
We are looking for people who can help for a minimum of half a day a week during these times, or to do regular workshops on specific activities.
Requirements
An awareness of the need’s vulnerable adults and adults with disabilities may have.
Willing to share skills and experience with others.
Someone with patience, good communication skills, willing to attend training.
All volunteers would have to undertake a DBS process (criminal records check). This requires being able to supply two references and certain documentation such as a birth certificate, driving license or passport.
Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over.
