We are looking for volunteers to train as Walk Leaders to guide free, short, and friendly group walks to help people in the community stay active and make social connections. We are a well-established group who walk daily including some evenings throughout Telford and Wrekin.

You will welcome participants, especially beginners or people returning to physical activity, ensuring everyone feels safe and valued.

We will ask you to keep track of attendance numbers and report any accidents or incidents, you will be given training and ongoing support to help you.

Your role will include planning short walks, usually between 30 and 90 minutes over easy terrain at a steady, inclusive pace. Your planning will include assessing for risks to ensure group safety.

The Training includes two, short online courses, and 2 online documents to read, shadowing a walk with a current Walk Leader and an in-person session followed by a walk under observation.

If you have any difficulty with any aspects of the training, please speak to us.

We ask you join one of our walks before enrolling on the training to gauge whether they meet your expectations.
